  • Nate Moore - Connections Pastor

I attended Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs, NC and attained my Bachelors in Biblical Studies and Masters in Pastoral Care and Counseling. I have served as a youth pastor, student pastor, and as a lead contemporary pastor. In all of those things, my toil has brought me great joy—there is nothing greater than seeing people turn from death and run towards life in Jesus Christ! My wife, Carlene is a nurse and we have two dogs; we love hiking, road trips, and thrift shopping. I enjoy watching the Hawkeyes play, competing in any game, and joining in fellowship.

  • Luke Patterson – Interim Student Ministry Director

I was raised in Bastrop, Texas. I married my high school sweetheart in 2019. We moved to South Dakota in 2020. In the summer of 2022, I worked as summer staff at Swan Lake Christian camp where God called me into student ministry. I was an intern with Calvary Kids' Ministry and Student Ministry from October 2022 to March 2024. In April 2024, I began working full time as Interim Student Ministry Director. I love God, my family, and my pets. I enjoy quality time with my wife, time in nature, fellowship with others, and watching the Dallas Cowboys win.

  • Kristi Schelhaas – Kids Ministry Director

Prior to stepping into the role of Kids Ministry Director, I served as a volunteer in Kids Ministry at Calvary for 15 years. I am passionate about coming alongside kids to help them grow in faith, establish an identity in who God says they are, and cheering them on as they go into this world and do great things for Him. I grew up in a small church near Fairmont, Minnesota.  My family instilled in me a deep desire to continually be serving in church. Music has been a major part of my life as long as I can remember. God eventually took me to Rockford, Illinois where I attended City First Leadership College to develop my skills in the worship world. • Amy Horning - Office Manager

I grew up in northern Minnesota, then attended University of Northwestern in St. Paul, MN where I studied Math Education.  It was there I met my husband Erik, who grew up in Freeman, SD.  After many years in the Twin Cities, a job change for Erik led us to Yankton and Calvary.  Erik and I have 3 children, and our family life revolves around our kids’ school activities and golf.  I began my career as a teacher, left that to be a stay-at-home mom, went back to teaching, and then God placed this job of Church Office Manager before me.  Each of these roles has kept me on my toes and taught me to be ready for anything!  I love strong, black coffee, a good book, and MN sports teams.
