Calvary Women's Ministry
"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." Philippians 1:6
The Women of Calvary Baptist Church lovingly encourage one another to allow God to work through us to complete His work in us. We do this by using our God-given gifts to minister to others. Please scroll through our ministries below for detailed information about our many women's ministries. Special events are also held throughout the year. Watch the website for more information.
The Women of Calvary are devoted to studying the Word of God. We offer many opportunities for women to gather together in fellowship, Bible study and prayer. Click HERE for current offerings.
During the school calendar year we offer:
Prayer Shawl Ministry
We provide shawls for those who are hurting - grieving the loss of a loved one, experiencing a prolonged illness or many of the other losses that there may be in life.
The most important part of this ministry is PRAYER. Prayers are said for the person to receive the shawl as it is made. When shawls are completed, the group prays over the shawl together. A prayer card with Bible verses will be attached to each shawl. When the shawl is presented, the group will pray with the recipient. This ministry meets every 3rd Tuesday night of the month at 6:30 p.m.
Friendship Through Cards
Ladies enjoy fellowship as we create beautiful handmade cards. You don't have to be a pro to join in the fun - no experience necessary. We create cards for our card ministry and you will have cards to take home for your personal use as well. This ministry meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Dorcas Hands Quilting Ministry
Quilts are made and distributed in our community as the need arises. This ministry meets at 7:00 p.m. the third Tuesday of each month.
Women's Craft Events
Craft events are held at various times throughout the year.
Bridal showers are provided for upcoming brides and baby showers for first-time moms. Calvary women serve as hostesses for these events.
The kitchen ministry is organized into kitchen circles to provide and serve food for special functions: funerals, Vacation Bible School, AWANA special events, etc. To become a part of a circle, contact the church office.
Meals are provided for families during times of stress, such as a death in the family, birth of a baby, or illness. Contact the church office if there is a need.
